Value relates to emotional needs

Value is something desirable and of worth, created through exchange or effort.

Many people talk about their product in terms of the features it offers rather than the benefits users receive. A feature is descriptive; a benefit is emotional. It’s the difference between what and why. Those benefits cause an emotional response from users—they have an impact, good or bad. At its simplest, users perceive value in terms of how well something meets their needs.

A product succeeds because of the value it provides users. A business succeeds because of the value it provides customers.

Think about it this way—value means helping people. How can I give more value? How can I help people more?  To create value for others is to be useful doing something that is worthwhile.

Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.
